University of Applied Sciences

Project Description

The University of Applied Sciences Munich set out to launch a new website design for the entire institute. As part of this initiative, each department was tasked with planning its own website structure, using pre-designed templates tailored to various content needs. I led the redesign for the Department of General and Interdisciplinary Studies, which offers one bachelor's program, one master's program, and 163 elective courses.

The primary goal of this project was to create a platform where students, faculty, and visitors could easily access department-specific information. To achieve this, I focused on restructuring the site to prioritize user-centered navigation, making critical resources such as course schedules, program information, syllabi, and academic support links readily available and easy to find.

Additionally, the redesign aimed to showcase the department’s achievements, ongoing research projects, faculty profiles, and upcoming events. This helped to highlight the department’s unique contributions and foster a sense of community. I also facilitated communication and connectivity across user groups—students, faculty, and administrative staff—by including dedicated sections for contact information and channels to support interactions.

In this role, I managed the seamless transfer of data from the old website to the new platform, ensuring all essential content was migrated smoothly. Implementing striking visuals and a cohesive brand color helped align the website’s aesthetic with the department’s identity while enhancing overall engagement. I streamlined content to minimize text, creating a clean and accessible layout that supports a modern, engaging user experience.
